Fremont Street Journal

Downtown Las Vegas, covered like it matters.

Downtown Correspondent

Vera Holloway

Vera walks Fremont Street most days and writes about what she finds there: the 1930s hotel with the first elevator in town, the poker room where the World Series started, the coffee shop that outlived three owners, and whatever just opened on Fremont East. She likes old Las Vegas without being sentimental about it, and she is more interested in who is behind the bar than in who is on the billboard.

She writes the Downtown, History, and Eat & Drink sections.
